Fire Erupts in Car, Subsequently Collides with Several Vehicles

On May 22, at 18:27, the crisis management center of the Syunik regional rescue department received a report that a car was on fire near the "Khustup" bakery in Kapan city. Two firefighting units were dispatched from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

It was determined that while driving along Shahumyan Street, a gas leak occurred in a Volkswagen vehicle, causing a fire to erupt in the cabin. Subsequently, the vehicle collided with parked Hyundai and Opel cars.

Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, the driver and passenger of the Volkswagen were transported to a medical center. The fire was contained by 18:42 and extinguished by 18:50. The interior of the Volkswagen was partially burned.

The rescuers disconnected the electricity of the Volkswagen, stopped the gas leak, and carried out cooling and road washing operations.
