Bodies of Tourists Discovered in the Swiss Alps
Five bodies have been discovered near the Rimpfischhorn mountain in the Swiss Alps. This was reported by the police of the Valais canton in Switzerland.
According to law enforcement, the bodies were found after skiers' equipment was located at the base of the mountain. After failing to locate the owners of the skis, they contacted rescue services.
"On May 24, climbers contacted rescue services upon noticing abandoned skis at an altitude of about 4000 meters on the mountain's summit. Subsequent searches led to the discovery of five bodies," the statement noted.
The identities of the deceased are currently being established. The Swiss prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation to clarify the precise circumstances of the incident.
