Iran has already responded to the US's unreasonable demands: Araqchi

The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has stated that Tehran is considering whether to participate in the next round of indirect negotiations with the US, as reported by Tasnim.

In a conversation with reporters on Wednesday, Araqchi announced that Iran has already responded to the US's "unreasonable demands." He confirmed Tehran's clear stance on the issue of protecting the country's rights.

"Enrichment (in Iran) will continue, whether there is an agreement or not. However, we will be ready if the other side seeks transparency regarding Iran's peaceful (nuclear) program," Araqchi said.

When asked about the fifth round of indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US, Araqchi replied, "We are assessing whether it is worth participating in the next round of negotiations." He noted that Iran is evaluating whether effective negotiations can take place at the time and location proposed for the next round of talks.

Araqchi added that Iran rejects exaggerated demands at the negotiating table, although it has never turned its back on diplomacy. He emphasized that there can be no talk of demands aimed at depriving Iran of its rights.

Since April 12, Iran and the US have held four rounds of negotiations mediated by Oman, aiming to reach an agreement on Iran's nuclear program and to lift sanctions against Tehran.
