US Threatens Russia

The United States may tighten anti-Russian sanctions and increase military aid to Ukraine if there is no progress in resolving the conflict. This was announced by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as reported by TASS.

“The US administration does not rule out that the issue may conclude with the tightening of sanctions against the Russian Federation and an increase in military assistance to Ukraine,” Rubio stated.

He recalled that all sanctions imposed against the Russian Federation during the presidency of Joe Biden are still in effect.

Rubio also added that the US administration has not halted the supply of weapons to Ukraine, but there has been no decision on forming new military aid packages yet.

“That program has not been canceled. They continue to receive weapons,” he said during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing.

Rubio was asked whether the Washington administration is prepared to request measures from Congress for another package of armaments for Ukraine. “That is a different decision. It is not up to me. The White House needs to decide whether to go to Congress for additional funding. But everything that has been approved and allocated by Congress continues to be sent,” the Secretary of State said.
