Kocharian has betrayed the Armenian people, Hayk Konjoryan
Any leader of the Republic of Armenia should be a loyal ally of the Armenian people. This opinion was expressed by Hayk Konjoryan, the leader of the Civil Contract faction, during an interview with Petros Ghazaryan on Public TV.
"Kocharian has never been an ally of the Armenian people; he has betrayed the Armenian people, looted the people along with his clique, and made thousands of people homeless during the grotesque conditions of his kleptocracy. During Kocharian's time in power, dozens of political murders took place, property belonging to the people was handed over to the Russian Federation in exchange for favors, and he was not loyal to the people. If you are ready to be loyal to a foreign state, it means you are auctioning off your own country," he stated.
He noted that during Kocharian's rule, dozens of political murders occurred.
"Let me remind you of some of the political murders that took place during Robert Kocharian's years: Henrik Khachatryan, the Prosecutor General of Armenia, was killed by gunfire in his office; Aram Karapetyan, the former prosecutor of the Ministry of Transport, and Vahram Khorhoruni, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia, were killed by gunfire in 1998 in their apartment buildings; Artzrun Margaryan committed suicide with two shots; the October 27 murders; and Poghos Poghosyan, who was beaten by Kocharian's bodyguards in a restroom after addressing him as 'privet Robert' in the Aragast café. Tigran Naghapetyan. These are gruesome testimonies of Robert Kocharian's bloody decade in power, and these murders have not been uncovered.
When Robert Kocharian says, ‘let's unite internal resources and restore [the country],’ what does he mean? Does he have unfinished business he wants to continue? Let him answer these questions: what happened on October 27 and March 1, how did all this occur, and he still talks about the state? Meanwhile, his entourage has flourished and become multimillionaires," Konjoryan said.
