Such a thing has never happened before: Macron
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, reminded that he is the first leader in the country's history who cannot be re-elected due to constitutional limitations. "I am the first president in our history, and I will publicly state that I have no constitutional right to run for re-election. This has never happened before. Some resigned after losing a referendum, some sadly died in office, others lost elections and could not run again, and some preferred not to do so," he said.
He assured that he currently only intends to "complete this mandate."
