Armenia Under the Influence of an Active Cyclone

On May 14-15, Armenia will continue to be under the influence of an active cyclone, according to the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia.

As forecasted, thunderstorms with heavy rainfall and hail were observed in various regions of the republic on the afternoon of May 13, extending into the evening. Severe hailstorms were recorded in several communities in the Aragatsotn and Lori provinces, while in the Ararat Province's Kaghzretsy, Norashen, and Verin Artashat villages, a supercell developed, resulting in about a month's worth of rainfall within one hour, causing flooding.

On May 14-15, Armenia will remain under the influence of the active cyclone, with rain and thunderstorms expected intermittently across the entire territory of the republic. In certain areas, hail may also occur. In some regions of the republic, including parts of Yerevan, the rainfall is expected to be heavy.
