Drivers Under the Influence and Fake Licenses Detected in Yerevan
From May 5 to 12, during operations in the capital, Yerevan's police discovered 4,983 violations of traffic rules, resulting in 209 vehicles being moved to a secured area. Specifically, 179 drivers were found operating vehicles under the influence, 336 were driving without a valid driver's license, and 1 individual was apprehended for driving with a fake driver's license.
Other violations included: 50 related to registration plates, 961 for not wearing a seatbelt, 10 for not using a child seat, 407 for smoking while driving, 244 for using a mobile phone while driving, 40 for pedestrians crossing at non-designated areas, and 1,814 other infractions. Additionally, 173 vehicles were operated without valid insurance, 420 had not passed technical inspections, 80 had malfunctioning lights, and 71 had tinted windshields and side windows. During this period, 60 individuals were arrested on various suspicions and taken to community police departments.
In the same time frame, police in the regions detected 15,155 violations of traffic rules, resulting in 248 vehicles being moved to secured areas. Among these, 231 drivers were found under the influence, 662 were driving without a valid license, and 1 individual was caught with a fake driver's license. Other recorded violations included: 74 related to registration plates, 3,739 for not wearing seatbelts, 209 for not using a child seat, 426 for smoking while driving, 577 for using mobile phones, 57 for pedestrians crossing at non-designated areas, 2,242 for speeding, and 4,341 other infractions.
Moreover, 478 vehicles were operated without valid insurance, 1,646 had not undergone technical inspections, and 359 had malfunctioning lights, including 20 trucks. Additionally, 55 individuals were arrested on various suspicions and taken to community police territorial departments.
