Trump on Meeting with Putin
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin is not scheduled for mid-May in Saudi Arabia, but talks between the parties are ongoing.
“I don’t think so. But we are having very good discussions,” the U.S. president replied.
This week, the Kremlin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Putin has no plans for any trip to the Middle East in mid-May.
In April, Trump signaled that he expects to meet with Putin “at some point.” He later suggested that the meeting could take place “soon” after his upcoming trip to the Middle East.
Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE is scheduled for May 12-16.
