Traditional Torch March Kicks Off
The traditional Torch March dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide has commenced from the Republic Square of Armenia. Similar to previous years, this year again, all interested participants have the opportunity to take part as torchbearers, carrying the torch that symbolizes the struggle for the recognition and condemnation of crimes against humanity towards Tsitsernakaberd.
It is important to note that in order to ensure the safety of participants in the Torch March commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, access for vehicles to the Republic Square in Yerevan will be restricted starting April 23 at 18:30 from all directions. From 19:00 onwards, the roads, including Amiryan Street, Mashtots and Baghramyan Avenues, as well as Kievyan Street, will be gradually closed for vehicle traffic in both directions.
To ensure the safety of participants at the commemoration event scheduled to take place at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex, vehicle traffic will be restricted on April 24 starting from 07:00. This will include restrictions on Tsitsernakaberd Highway from the Leningrad Street-Tsitsernakaberd Highway intersection, on Athens Street from the Isakov Avenue-Athens Street intersection, and on Verfel Street toward Brazil Square.
Additionally, from 07:00 to 10:30 on April 24, entry to Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex will be closed due to state ceremonial activities.
