Peskov on Extending the Easter Ceasefire
The period of the Easter ceasefire will expire at midnight on the following day, and there have been no orders to extend it. This was reported to TASS by Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of Russia.
Putin announced the ceasefire on Saturday, which will be effective from 6:00 PM Moscow time on April 19 until 12:00 AM Moscow time on April 21.
“There have been no other orders,” Peskov responded when asked whether the ceasefire would be extended. During the Easter ceasefire, which will last a total of 30 hours, Putin has prohibited any military operations in the zone of the special military operation in Ukraine. He has also ordered the monitoring of the actions of Ukrainian military personnel who may violate the moratorium on strikes and promptly repel attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces.
