Civil Contract Party Will Not Attend First Session of Newly Elected Council, Says Sarik Minasyan

The candidate for the mayor of Gyumri from the Civil Contract Party, Sarik Minasyan, stated:

“Dear Gyumretsis, respected fellow citizens, I stand by each of your votes, and guided by this very principle, I declare that the Civil Contract Party will not participate in the first session of the newly elected council, which will take place with the involvement of representatives from those who gained votes from Gyumri residents through deceit and are prepared to hand them over to others.

I call on council members concerned about Gyumri's future to vote according to their conscience, to reject decisions imposed on you as a result of others' calculations, and not to shadow Gyumri's future.

The current situation makes the governance of Gyumri doomed to failure; a crisis is inevitable. Gyumri should not become a city with a foggy future; this does not serve the interests of the Gyumretsi. The consequence of your wrong step will be carried by you and your children, no matter how much you try to evade that responsibility. For the sake of Gyumri and its residents, we must proceed with new extraordinary elections.”

It should be noted that today, the first session of the council in Gyumri has commenced. The council will be electing a community mayor today.
