Iran’s Foreign Minister Describes Atmosphere of Talks with the U.S.
The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi characterized the atmosphere of negotiations between Iran and the U.S. in Oman as constructive and calm, and expressed gratitude to the Omani Foreign Minister for his efforts in facilitating discussions between the Iranian and American delegations.
“We had indirect talks that lasted about two and a half hours. The negotiations were conducted in a completely respectful, calm, and constructive atmosphere,” Araghchi said, according to the Iranian state news agency SNN.
Indirect negotiations took place on Saturday in Muscat, Oman, between the Iranian Foreign Minister and U.S. President Joe Biden's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve H. Whitkoff.
