The Issue of Proshyan Residents Resolved

The government has met with the residents of Proshyan and Kasakh to discuss transportation issues. After the meeting, Proshyan residents announced that their problem had been resolved, as route number 25 will be maintained. However, the bus will no longer reach the village; instead, it will turn around from the location of the former Ministry of Defense building and return to Yerevan.

On the other hand, route number 59 serving the Kasakh community will be removed. A Proshyan resident who participated in the government meeting stated that representatives from the Kasakh community left in anger.

It is worth recalling that protests began on April 5. Residents of the Proshyan and Kasakh communities had previously used buses on routes 25 and 59 to reach Yerevan, paying 150 dram. Now, the Yerevan municipality has decided that the buses will not reach those communities. The new route will be operated by “Multitransport” company, with fares set at 250 and 200 dram.

Additionally, as residents previously outlined, the new route will cover only 7 km, extending from their communities to the well-known Physics Institute located in the Ajapnyak administrative district. The last bus is scheduled for 19:30, whereas the last stop of the previous route was near Victory Park.
