Turkey Resumes Economic Dialogue with the EU
Turkey is set to resume high-level economic dialogue with the European Union after a six-year hiatus. Local media have reported that the meeting will take place on April 3 in Brussels.
Participants in the Turkey-EU high-level economic dialogue will include Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, the European Commission's Executive Vice-President and EU Trade Commissioner, and EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.
The meeting will consist of two parts, with representatives from the business sector discussing investment and trade opportunities. At the ministerial level, topics such as the macroeconomic situation, competitiveness, and structural reforms will be addressed, followed by discussions of investment and trade opportunities among business representatives.
It is noteworthy that the first meeting of this Turkey-EU dialogue mechanism took place in 2016, and the most recent one was held in 2019.
