The Catholicos Appeals to the President of Germany Heading to Azerbaijan

The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has released a statement indicating that, considering the visit of the President of Germany to Azerbaijan, the Catholicos has appealed to Mr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier to voice the just rights of the people of Artsakh in Baku, as well as the issues regarding the release of Armenian prisoners of war and the preservation of Armenian spiritual-cultural heritage.

According to His Holiness, only through the consistent articulation of these existing issues can a just resolution be achieved, leading to the establishment of sustainable peace in the region and creating conditions for the peaceful coexistence of peoples.

Mr. Steinmeier assured the Armenian Patriarch that he would exert his mediating efforts in favor of establishing final peace in the region. Today marks the beginning of the German President's visit to Azerbaijan. Earlier, it was reported that President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is on an official visit to Azerbaijan.
