Russia's Name Missing from Trump's List

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the imposition of new tariffs on products from other countries. Thus, the U.S. has set tariffs on products from the EU at 20%; from China at 34%; from Taiwan at 32%; from South Korea at 25%; and from India at 26%. Additionally, a 25% tariff will be applied to passenger cars, light trucks, and automotive parts.

Furthermore, the U.S. will set a minimum basic tariff of ten percent on imports from various countries, including Ukraine. However, Russia is not on the list of countries subject to these measures. Trump clarified that Washington will not impose tariffs in full but will limit its approach to about half of the tariffs applied by other countries.

The U.S. has already imposed a 25% tariff on goods imported from Mexico and Canada. The same tools have also been applied to products coming from China, raising their tariff rate to 20%. Washington has explained such measures as a response to illegal immigration and the supply of fentanyl.

Moreover, the United States has imposed tariffs on EU goods and plans to take reciprocal measures against countries whose tariffs on American goods are higher than vice versa. Ottawa and Beijing have already announced retaliatory measures, and the EU has also promised to take action in April.
