Trump Did Not Wish to Impose Tariffs on April 1, April Fool's Day

Donald Trump did not wish to impose tariffs on April 1, April Fool's Day. His address has been postponed until tomorrow, according to White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt.

“The rates will be announced tomorrow. They will take effect immediately. As you know, the president has spoken extensively about this. He has often mentioned that April 2 is Liberation Day in America. That would have happened today if it weren’t for April Fool’s Day,” she stated.

According to the White House official, foreign companies will be able to avoid tariffs if they “decide to do business in the United States... if those companies choose to invest here in the United States and relocate their production.”
