The issue of Ukraine's accession to NATO was not discussed in exchange for raw materials, stated U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to him, the relevant document has already been prepared, but now Kyiv is setting conditions to join the alliance.

In Trump's opinion, this question could be the reason for the war. “We have already prepared this deal, everything is done. And now I hear from journalists that Zelensky is ready to reach an agreement to join NATO or something like that. First, this has never been discussed. Second, Putin has long said that Ukraine should not join NATO. And perhaps that is what caused the war,” Trump emphasized.
