Martun Grigoryan Issues Statement

Dear Gyumri residents, I reaffirm my statement that the ruling party will not have a mayor in Gyumri—that is certain. This was written by Martun Grigoryan, the candidate for mayor of Gyumri, on his Facebook page.

Earlier, we reported that Vardan Ghukasyan, another candidate for the mayoral position in Gyumri, mentioned that no negotiations have yet taken place with Martun Grigoryan. He stated this during a press briefing.

“First, I need to be convinced that Martun Grigoryan will not join the opposition; only then will we make our announcements about who will support the ruling party. I have heard Martun Grigoryan's statements that we need to unite with the opposition and that the ruling party will not win in Gyumri. I hope that Martun Grigoryan will uphold our agreements. I do not view him as an enemy; we can sit down, discuss, and come to an agreement,” he said.
