«Ara, You Are a Parent Too»: Tensions Rise in the National Assembly
Mariam Z.
In the National Assembly, a dispute occurred between relatives of missing servicemen and lawmakers. Shouts were heard in the corridor where journalists had gathered. However, security personnel did not allow journalists to approach the room where the meeting was taking place.
Although the sounds of shouting were audible, it was unclear what the cause of the disagreement was. One of the parents' voices was heard saying, “Ara, you are a parent too, understand the parents. Calm down, come on, conduct yourselves properly.”
Some of the parents left the hall, went upstairs, and then returned to the parliamentary session but did not respond to any questions.
