Trump Administration Presents New Demands to Ukraine

The American leader Donald Trump's administration is demanding that Ukraine sign an agreement allowing Washington to oversee key projects in Ukraine's economy. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing a draft document sent to the Ukrainian side.

According to the publication, the U.S. intends to prioritize participation in infrastructure projects, the creation of ports, and resource extraction programs, including for rare earth metals.

The article notes that the fund, led by U.S. politicians, will use profits to cover the costs of U.S. military assistance to Ukraine.

At the same time, the newspaper reports that Kyiv is concerned that the terms of such an agreement will limit the rights of Ukrainian authorities to attract other investors for the country's recovery.

If the document is signed by both parties, Kyiv will have 45 days to present a list of projects for discussion by this fund.
