Netanyahu Gives Secret Directive to Mossad
The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has tasked the country’s external intelligence agency, Mossad, with finding countries willing to accept a large number of Palestinians displaced from the Gaza Strip, Axios reports, citing Israeli officials.
Negotiations have already taken place with Somalia, South Sudan, Indonesia, and other countries. According to Israeli officials, Netanyahu gave the secret directive to Mossad several weeks ago. The Prime Minister's Office declined to comment on the matter.
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump suggested relocating two million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in order to rebuild the war-torn enclave. Netanyahu has expressed support for the proposal, as he searches for ways to relocate thousands of Palestinians to countries thousands of kilometers away.
