Thousands Detained and Arrested Protesters: Situation in Turkey

The Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced that during protests in Turkey, 1,879 people have been detained, of which 260 have been arrested. He stated that processes threatening security have begun in the country.

“An incitement against our people's brotherhood has taken place; our police officers have been attacked, and our moral values have been violated. Justice occurs in the courtroom, not in the streets,” he remarked.

“Turkey is a country with deeply rooted democracy, and its understanding of democracy is based on the will of the people,” he added.
