Pashinyan Meets with Araghchi: Discussion Highlights

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, received a delegation led by Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is on an official visit to Armenia.

Pashinyan wished Araghchi success in his new position and simultaneously expressed gratitude for his efforts in promoting the consistent development of Armenian-Iranian relations during his previous tenure. The Armenian leader emphasized that cooperation between the two countries is successfully developing, with one key prerequisite being the mutual trust established between the parties.

Nikol Pashinyan stressed that the relations between Armenia and Iran are based on natural interests, which serves as an essential foundation and guarantee for the further development and expansion of bilateral ties.

Araghchi thanked Pashinyan for the reception and conveyed warm greetings from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The Iranian Foreign Minister noted that the relations between Armenia and Iran are anchored in historical economic and cultural ties. According to him, the bilateral relations have strategic importance, and current developments further highlight the significance of cooperation.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi emphasized Iran's continuous support for Armenia's territorial integrity and underscored the importance of the inviolability of existing borders in the region.

The interlocutors discussed the implementation of new projects between Armenia and Iran in the economy, including infrastructure and energy sectors. The organization of mutual high-level visits was also highlighted as a priority.

They exchanged views on the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as other issues of mutual interest. Prime Minister Pashinyan reiterated that the Armenian Government is committed to the consistent implementation of the peace agenda.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his country's support for the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, adding that it would contribute to stability in the region.

Pashinyan requested to convey his warm greetings to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
