Baku Claims No Additional Conditions Have Been Imposed on Yerevan Beyond Peace Agreement

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has refuted the claims made by Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan that Baku has imposed additional conditions for the signing of the peace agreement. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aihan Hajiyeved, as cited by TASS.

During a joint press conference with the Iranian Foreign Minister on March 25, Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan remarked that Azerbaijan had raised new conditions following the agreement on the text of the peace treaty. This assertion was deemed baseless in the Azerbaijani Ministry's statement.

“If Armenia is interested in signing the peace agreement, it must immediately amend its Constitution and not avoid cooperation on the issue of officially dissolving the Minsk Group,” added the spokesperson of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is noteworthy that Nikol Pashinyan has repeatedly stated that he is ready to sign a peace and cooperation agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, while the representative of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs seems to unveil demands that are currently not included in the finalized text of the agreement.
