How Many Drivers Are Utilizing the Bonus Component to Pay Fines

Since May 1, 2024, a total of 493,490 drivers in Armenia have taken advantage of the bonus component for paying fines. This information was shared by Armenia's Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly.

She noted that as a result of the implementation of the bonus component, which came into effect on May 1, 2024, around 90,000 drivers are benefiting from a 20% bonus if they receive notifications for traffic violations electronically.

The minister added that 403,490 citizens have also utilized the 30% reduction option if they have paid their fine within 15 days. "These numbers are not bad, and we must continue to promote this toolkit and maintain diligent efforts in this direction so that utilizing digital solutions becomes a preferred option for our citizens," she emphasized.

It is worth mentioning that according to the established system, drivers whose violations are recorded by photo and video cameras, and who agree to receive notifications electronically, will have their fines automatically reduced by 20%. In other cases, if a driver pays fines for violating traffic rules within the 15-day period, the amount is reduced by 30%. The provided discount does not apply to violations recorded by patrol services; in such cases, fines are issued immediately at the scene.

To benefit from the proposed discount, drivers were required to register on the official portal roadpolice.am before May 1, 2024; notifications received through alternative platforms are not considered.
