Fire Breaks Out at Russian Airport Following Drone Attack
A fire has broken out at an airport in Engels, Saratov Region, due to an attack by Ukrainian drones, prompting the evacuation of nearby residents. This information was reported by Roman Buzargin, the governor of Saratov Region.
“For safety reasons, the evacuation of residents from the non-commercial gardening communities located near the airport is being carried out due to the fire that broke out on the airport premises,” he wrote on Telegram, adding that “all emergency services are on site.”
According to the governor, the attack that occurred on the night of March 20 is the largest since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. It has been reported that over 30 private houses and summer cabins were damaged in several non-commercial gardening communities in Engels due to the drone strikes, and several residents sought medical assistance.
