Which Country's Citizens Have Received the Most Temporary Residency Status in Armenia
The Statistical Committee of Armenia informed the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper that foreigners who have received temporary residency status in Armenia are classified by their country of citizenship and the basis of granting this status as follows: India - 1,349 persons, Russian Federation - 1,165 persons, Iran - 550 persons, Jordan - 172 persons, Sri Lanka - 148 persons.
The total number of foreigners who have received temporary residency status in Armenia is 4,439, of which 747 individuals were granted this status based on entrepreneurial activity, 1,351 due to family reunification (including spouses, parents, or children of foreigners with temporary residency status in Armenia, or spouses/immediate relatives (parents, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren) of Armenian citizens or individuals with permanent or special residency status in Armenia), 2,313 for educational purposes, and 28 due to Armenian ethnicity.
It is also noteworthy that, according to the Statistical Committee of Armenia, in January 2025, 342,460 individuals entered the Republic of Armenia, of which only 167,798 had Armenian documents. Compared to the same period last year, it is crucial to mention that in January 2024, the number of individuals entering Armenia was 326,252. Thus, in January 2025, 16,208 more individuals visited Armenia compared to the previous year.
According to the same data, 339,773 individuals left the Republic of Armenia, of which only 144,103 possessed Armenian documents. Therefore, the overall balance of entries and exits from Armenia stands at 2,687 individuals, indicating that the number of entries exceeded the exits by 2,687 people.
