Under What Conditions Will Azerbaijan Sign the Final Agreement? Responses from Baku
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to statements from the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, indicating that negotiations on the draft text of the agreement concerning peace and the establishment of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia have concluded.
Azerbaijan has reiterated its stance that the main condition for signing the text is for Armenia to make amendments to its Constitution, again claiming that there are purported aspirations towards Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity in the Armenian Constitution.
“At the same time, we emphasize the necessity for the official dissolution of the outdated and non-functional OSCE Minsk Group and its corresponding structures. We are ready to continue bilateral dialogue on this and other issues related to the normalization of relations between the two countries,” the statement reads.
