Tax Authorities Do Not Target Anyone: Head of the State Revenue Committee
The Head of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), Eduard Hakobyan, stated in an interview with journalists that tax authorities do not target anyone, and that inspections are entirely lawful and fall within the functions of the organization.
According to him, the SRC has an annual program for targeted inspections, which is drafted taking into account potential risks. All inspections are conducted under this program.
He disagrees with media claims that the government needs extra funds to cover the budget deficit, which prompted the SRC to reach out to a major businessman. "We do not target anyone; we treat entrepreneurs and everyone as members of our family, and I mean that in the most direct sense. We are trying to make the system, our service, as people-centered as possible for society. Rest assured that this approach is always present in our work," Hakobyan said.
It is noteworthy that earlier media reports indicated that unprecedented tax inspections have been conducted at the companies of businessman Samvel Aleksanyan in recent weeks.
