How the Sun Sets on the Moon
NASA and Firefly Aerospace presented the latest images of the lunar lander named Blue Ghost during a press conference today. The images were taken at the moment when the lander completed its mission and has essentially become a 'monument' on the Moon.
The photos capture the breathtaking view of the Sun setting over the Moon, along with the lunar dust glistening under its light. Such an impressive scene was last witnessed by the Apollo 17 astronauts more than 50 years ago in 1972.
'Witness the lunar sunset. This is our final gift from the Blue Ghost mission. It is an honor for us to share this stunning glow of the lunar horizon with the world as our mission concludes. The NASA team eagerly awaits further analysis of these images,' Firefly Aerospace wrote on their social media page.
