Azerbaijan has categorically rejected the statement made today by the office of the Prime Minister of Armenia, which proposed the establishment of a joint mechanism for investigating cases of ceasefire violations or similar information between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was announced by Ayhan Hajizade, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
“Once again, we draw attention to Azerbaijan's principled position, which is that the main condition for signing the already agreed text is to make amendments to the Constitution of Armenia to eliminate any claims against Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he stated.
Hajizade also added that if the Armenian side is truly interested in opening communications in the region, it should not shy away from its obligations and should take appropriate steps. “At the same time, we emphasize the necessity of dissolving the OSCE Minsk Group and other outdated and ineffective structures,” Hajizade noted.
