Yes, I would go to Baku for a tourist visit if the situation is favorable; we would also welcome them here: Arsen Torosyan

Armenians and Azerbaijanis are building friendships in other countries. This was stated by Arsen Torosyan, a member of the Armenian National Assembly from the ruling Civil Contract party, in an interview with Factor TV.

“In many countries, including Georgia and Russia, Armenians and Azerbaijanis, if there’s nothing else happening at that moment, are also friends with each other, and I see nothing wrong with that. After all, we cannot relocate Armenia and Azerbaijan from here, and yes, we want at least non-conflictual relations with our neighbors. Ordinary people, both Armenian and Azerbaijani, want one thing; it’s different that the states of these peoples inject something else into the populace that has an impact. If the state does not do what we want, then the people will very calmly accept that fact,” said Torosyan.

When asked by the host whether he would go to Baku for a tourist visit, he responded, “Yes, if the situation is favorable enough for that to be possible, of course, I would go, and we would also welcome them here.”

Speaking about the signing of a peace treaty, he also noted that diplomatic relations could also be established afterward: “Armenia and Azerbaijan will open embassies after the signing of the document; why shouldn’t they be opened?”
