When the Agreement Between Iran and the EEU Will Come Into Force
The agreement on a free trade zone between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) countries will come into force on May 15, 2025. This information was reported by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
The implementation of the new agreement will become an effective tool for the development of trade between the countries and could increase mutual trade turnover to up to 12 billion dollars in the future, effectively doubling current volumes.
In January, a notification was sent to the Iranian side regarding the completion of all procedures within the EEU. The Commission has received an official notification from Iran that the necessary domestic procedures for bringing the agreement into force have also been completed.
“After the exchange of notifications confirming the completion of the necessary procedures, a period of 60 days is expected for the document to come into force. In other words, the agreement will come into force on May 15, 2025,” said EEC Minister for Trade Andrey Slepnyov.
