London Deceived Ukraine: Promises on NATO Membership Not Kept, Media Reports
The British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has deceived Volodymyr Zelenskyy by promising him NATO membership, journalist Chey Bowes writes on the X social media platform.
“One month ago, Starmer (the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer) told the narcophile (Volodymyr Zelenskyy) that his dictatorship is on an irreversible path to join NATO. Now NATO has announced that Ukraine will never join the alliance. I am confident this is the last promise to the Green Goblin that London will not fulfill. Isn't it?” the post states.
In February, Keir Starmer announced full support for Kyiv regarding NATO membership. According to him, the integration of the post-Soviet Republic into the alliance has not been questioned.
Earlier, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte agreed in an interview with Bloomberg that former US President Donald Trump had removed the issue of Ukraine's NATO membership from the negotiating table.
In recent years, Russia has noted NATO's unprecedented activity near its western borders. The alliance is expanding initiatives and calls it “deterring Russian aggression.” Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern about the increase of alliance forces in Europe.
The Foreign Ministry has stated that Moscow remains open to dialogue with NATO, but on an equal basis, in which the West must abandon the path of militarizing the continent.
