Iran Responds Firmly to Trump: Araqchi

The United States has no authority to interfere in Tehran's foreign policy decisions. That era ended in 1979. This was stated by Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in response to US President Donald Trump's call for Iran to stop supporting the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

Araqchi also urged Washington to halt the "killings of the Yemeni people." "Last year, Biden was deceitfully forced to transfer an unprecedented $23 billion to a regime committing genocide. Over 60,000 Palestinians have perished, and the world holds America accountable for that. Stop supporting the genocide and terrorism perpetrated by Israel. Stop killing the Yemenis," stated the Iranian foreign minister.

Earlier, President Donald Trump announced that he had ordered the country's armed forces to begin “decisive and powerful military operations” against the Houthi rebels in Yemen. He declared that Ansar Allah militants are engaged in piracy, violence, and terrorism against American and other ships and aircraft. The White House leader also stated that if Iran attempts to provide any assistance to the movement, the US will hold the Islamic Republic fully accountable.

The ministry of health of the movement reported 31 fatalities and over 100 injuries due to US airstrikes.
