The US Plans to Acquire Nord Stream and Rosneft's Subsidiary

Negotiations have been ongoing for several months between representatives from the United States, Russia, and Germany regarding the acquisition of the "Nord Stream" pipelines. This was reported by the German publication Correctiv.

Other Russian-German energy infrastructures have also come under the Americans' radar. Specifically, the sale of 54% stakes in Rosneft's Swedish subsidiary and shares in the Bayernoil and Miro oil refineries is being discussed.

This development could lead to the restoration of Russian energy supplies to Europe. However, the source clarified that such an outcome would only be feasible after the conclusion of the conflict in Ukraine.

Previously, the German publication Bild reported that the German government circles are considering countermeasures to prevent the possible operation of the "Nord Stream 2" gas pipeline.

US Special Representative for Special Affairs Richard Grenell has made several visits to Switzerland for unofficial negotiations regarding the potential restart of "Nord Stream 2."
