After the Facebook posts of Yerevan City Council member Pedro Zaroukian, National Assembly President Alen Simonyan considers the lawsuit against him pointless.

“Well, dear friends, Yerevan City Council member Pedro Zaroukian has actually refuted his February 19 post, where he attributed to me and my brother connections with a company engaged in road construction and winning an incredible number of state tenders. I am glad that Pedro found so much honesty and courage within himself to acknowledge his mistake and publicly correct it, which I consider a commendable step. The lawsuit, of course, becomes meaningless now; it remains for their self-proclaimed independent and objective media to refute it with the same diligence with which they wrote that Alen Simonyan, along with his brother, was connected with a road construction company and won hundreds of millions of dollars in tenders, only to go bankrupt later. Well, independent, free, professional, objective, and not ‘yellow press,’ we await your response,” Alen Simonyan wrote on his Telegram channel.
