Russia Has Never Placed Its Hopes on Anyone, Lavrov Says

The reasonable approaches to establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia will eventually find their path in the West, and the first glimmers of this necessity have already been recorded in some countries in the region. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as reported by TASS.

“We have no doubt that, sooner or later, the healthy approaches to establishing mutually beneficial and honest cooperation with Russia will also find their path in the states whose governments are currently taking unfriendly, if we speak directly, hostile actions against us. In some countries, what I am saying is already noticeable,” said the minister.

Lavrov also emphasized that Russia has never relied on the goodwill of any state. “Firstly, our experience of communication with the West has already taught us not to believe its promises, but to judge solely by the actions taken. Secondly, in my opinion, the last few years have served as a very good lesson that we cannot allow situations where the key sectors of our economy, finance, and technology are dependent on the whims of Western suppliers,” concluded Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
