If You Receive Such a Message, Do Not Respond or Transfer Money: Ministry of Internal Affairs

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that fraudulent messages are being distributed via email under the name of the leadership of the police, claiming that you have allegedly accessed certain websites from your computer, saved videos and images, and shared them. The fraudsters demand that you respond within 24 hours and select one of the proposed options to pay 400,000 dram to supposedly avoid a legal case.

"We inform you that this is a fraud and does not correspond to reality. If you receive such a message, do not respond or transfer money. We urge you to ignore suspicious messages and refrain from entering personal information on unknown websites or pages. If you have already become a victim of fraud, immediately contact the police or call the Ministry of Internal Affairs' hotline for internet fraud at 011 52 52 52 (the hotline operates on working days from 09:00 to 18:00). Any information under the name of the police should be followed only through official communications," the statement reads.
