Drivers Must Use Winter Tires Exclusively

The roads in the Republic of Armenia are mostly passable. The Rescue Service reports that the roads across the country are largely accessible. However, the roads from the ‘Amberd’ high-altitude weather station in Aragatsotn Province to Kary Lake and Amberd Fortress are closed.

Drivers are required to use winter tires exclusively. According to information received from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
