Ali Khamenei Rejects Trump's Proposal
Iran will not negotiate with the United States because Washington is focused not on solving problems but on imposing its interests on others, stated Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
"Certain dishonest governments negotiate not to solve issues but to impose their own interests. The Islamic Republic of Iran will certainly not meet their expectations," he said during a meeting with Iranian officials, responding to a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump suggesting negotiations over Tehran's nuclear program.
Khamenei also criticized Western policies, noting the application of double standards; acknowledging Nazi Germany's crimes during World War II while denying Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip.
It is worth mentioning that the U.S. President had written on his Truth Social page yesterday that he sent a letter to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei proposing to start negotiations over Iran's nuclear program. Following this, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told AFP that Tehran will not negotiate with Washington as long as the Trump administration continues its maximum pressure policy.
