Iran Will Not Wait for Any Letters from the U.S. - Ghalibaf
Iran is capable of neutralizing sanctions and will not wait for any letters from the U.S., stated Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, according to Iranian media reports.
“I must emphasize the Parliament's full readiness to implement the strategies and wise directives of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei regarding the solutions to the country’s issues. Ayatollah Khamenei has underscored the priority of addressing economic and livelihood problems and has explicitly stated that the primary focus of state institutions should be on resolving people's livelihood issues. Therefore, livelihood issues will be at the center of the Parliament's and lawmakers' attention, and we consider the maintenance of cohesion among state institutions a condition for the success of these efforts,” emphasized Ghalibaf during a parliamentary session.
Commenting on U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement regarding the start of negotiations with Iran, Ghalibaf noted that it should be highlighted that the U.S. President's behavior with other countries clearly shows that these statements are merely a facade of a desire for negotiations. He added that the U.S. aims to impose its demands and disarm Iran, as indicated in its signed policy document.
“Today, more than ever, it is clear that the removal of sanctions is possible through Iran's strengthening and the neutralization of sanctions. Therefore, we do not expect letters from the U.S. and believe that by utilizing our immense potential and taking advantage of opportunities to expand external relations with other countries, we can reach a situation where the adversary has no choice but to lift the sanctions,” he stated.
Earlier, the U.S. President announced that he had sent a letter to Iran's Supreme Leader, expressing hope that they would agree to negotiations.
