We Can't Wear Suits: Zelensky's Stylist
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky's stylist Elvira Hasanova explained why Zelensky did not wear a suit during his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. She discussed this in an interview with ft.com.
“He is a leader in wartime, and political figures do not need suits during war,” she said. Zelensky wore a long-sleeved shirt with an embroidered trident during the meeting on February 28.
“This is a national symbol of Ukraine and a symbol of independence. His style defines the standards of leadership in the 21st century as he is a strong personality,” the stylist added.
According to her, Zelensky's images are part of his message to the world; he wants to convey that he stands alongside his people. “We cannot wear suits while our soldiers are fighting and our people are in shelters,” Hasanova concluded.
