Similar Situation or Discussion Has Not Taken Place: Ombudsman

Regarding the information circulated in the media, I was very surprised because there has never been a situation or discussion like that in Liberty Square. This was stated by the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Anahit Manasyan, during a press briefing with journalists.

"I am astonished at how this information emerged, because the initial idea was that, just like any institution visit, the staff is interested in whether it is possible, for example, to talk to the individuals at that moment. A colleague informed us that Ms. Tandilyan is currently sleeping, and another colleague, who introduced himself as a doctor, noted that besides being asleep, she also feels weak for communication," she said.

Manasyan added at the end that discussions around such information change the essence of a humanitarian event. "All this alters the essence of a humanitarian event, turning it into a political domestic matter, which is not its purpose," she emphasized.
