Under What Conditions Will Trump Resume Negotiations with Zelensky?

After the scandalous debate between Trump and Zelensky at the White House, the President of Ukraine stated that he believes he can salvage his relations with President Trump, but negotiations must take place behind closed doors.

“I don’t think the format of the meeting gave us, as partners, anything positive or additional,” Zelensky remarked.

Zelensky added that he is ready to meet with Donald Trump again if the U.S. President invites him back to “solve real issues,” emphasizing that Kyiv is prepared to strike a deal with Washington regarding rare natural resources.

Following the heated debate that occurred in the Oval Office, the Trump administration has continued to scrutinize Zelensky. The White House also indicated that Trump is willing to resume negotiations with Zelensky over natural resources, but only on the condition that he changes his position.
