Trump Designates English as the Official Language of the USA
Lilit A.
U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order recognizing English as the official language of the United States. This marks the first time a federal official language has been established in the country. Concurrently, Trump has revoked former President Bill Clinton's order that mandated government services be provided to individuals with limited English proficiency.
Now, federal agencies will determine whether to offer services in other languages. It is worth noting that in January, following Donald Trump's inauguration, the White House removed the Spanish-language version of its official website.
