Ukrainian Armed Forces Attempted to Attack Turkish Stream Compressor Station in Kuban
The Ukrainian armed forces have attempted to launch an offensive against the Turkish Stream compressor station located in the Krasnodar region in order to halt gas supplies to Europe, according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"In the night from February 28, against the backdrop of Zelensky's visit to Washington, the Kyiv regime made another attempt to attack using three aircraft-type drones on the infrastructure of the 'Russkaya' compressor station located in the settlement of Haykadzor (Krasnodar region), which provides gas supply via the 'Turkish Stream' pipeline," the Ministry stated.
This is not the first attempt by Ukraine to target the facilities of the 'Turkish Stream.' On January 11, air defense forces destroyed 9 drones of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Russkaya region.
Additionally, on February 17, enemy drones attacked the oil transportation facility of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (‘Kropotkinskaya’), resulting in the station being taken out of service.
Furthermore, on March 1, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, as reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry. Lavrov informed his Turkish colleague that Ukraine had attempted to attack the 'Russkaya' compressor station on the 'Turkish Stream' pipeline using three drones, all of which were neutralized by the Russian Armed Forces' air defense systems.
The Russian minister requested Fidan to utilize Ankara's existing capabilities to prevent terrorist attacks against civilian infrastructure by the Kyiv regime, which is not the first time that such actions have been attempted. Hakan Fidan assured that necessary measures would be taken.
