Vardan Ghukasian's Lawyer Addresses His Whereabouts

The leader of the DOK party, Vardan Ghukasian's lawyer, Levon Baghdasaryan, asserted in an interview with Azatutyun today that his client is neither detained nor arrested, but there may be partial restrictions related to his freedom.

“He is not detained; arrest can be understood in various formats. The person has not been arrested, it is simply that an investigation is underway in connection with the legal operations of the relevant state authority there,” Baghdasaryan said.

As for Vardan Ghukasian's specific location, whether at his home or in any American institution, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement website indicates that Vardan Yurik Ghukasian, born in Armenia, is currently at a temporary holding facility for detainees in Henderson, Nevada.

Lawyer Levon Baghdasaryan claims he is unaware of Ghukasian's current whereabouts. According to the lawyer, a legal process has begun, and Vardan Ghukasian is also involved in that legal procedure. His American lawyers are handling this. According to Baghdasaryan, they informed him about the legal process that started about a week ago.

“Yes, we can say that it also involves migration issues. As far as I know, he has a relevant status in the U.S., including residency... The assessment of the remaining aspects will be provided in the coming days by both the relevant state authorities there and, of course, Vardan Ghukasian,” Baghdasaryan replied when asked whether this legal procedure is related to immigration issues.
